The United Kingdom and India on Wednesday signed an agreement to collaborate on science and innovation. The agreement between the two nations was signed after the meeting between the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh and UK Science Minister George Freeman.
The memorandum of understanding signed between the two nations on research will enable quicker, deeper collaboration on science between the two science powerhouses that will drive economic growth, create skilled jobs and improve lives in two nations and worldwide, UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology said in a press release. He noted that the partnership between India and UK will grow the sectors, companies and jobs of tomorrow for the benefit of both nations and the globe.
Freeman further said, “India is rapidly building on its phenomenal software and innovation sectors to become a global powerhouse in science and technology.”
